Seasons of a Backyard Persimmon Tree Photography Calendar

This calendar was designed as a photographic narrative of the (fuyu) persimmon tree from my family’s backyard, the year after my father passed away. The photographs were taken over a one-year span, capturing each phase of the tree’s state of expression from bare branches in winter, budding leaves of spring, blossoming fruit in summer, to the ripe produce and fiery colours of the fall season. Each month reveals one of nature’s magical seasonal cycles. The persimmon still-life that graces the cover was picked from the same tree and along with its visual narrative, creates a sublime calendar – images that correlate growth over time with monthly contemplative quotes. Text and images are customisable.
