Seabeach senecio (Senecio psuedo-arnica Less.) is common along the shores of Unalaska Island in summer. It is a member of the aster family of flowers. The bright yellow blossoms of the senecio plant are shown here growing on the beach by Illiuliuk Bay of Unalaska Island. In the distance, Ballyhoo Mountain and the mouth of the bay can be seen, rich with the green colours of summer in Alaska.
