Medicine starts from somewhere. In this case it's in a dark lab somewhere, where modern tools are not used. I would assume it's a generic. Chemistry can be cool, until you mix the wrong stuff. Keep the bomb proof suit near by.

This painting is full of the "mystery" of science. The liquid in the retort has very unusual color, that emphasizes this feeling. And it expresses the idea, that "real science" always connects with hard work. The print is not as good as was expected. The wall on the left side is too dark. And nothing is seen through the window, while on the picture in the net-shop some details are visible.
On the other hand, all flasks with chemical reagents are very realistic. And overall impression is very good.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
