Mit diesem Plakat für die Gotthardlinie der Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen schuf Emil Cardinaux eine wunderbare Ansicht eines berühmten Wahrzeichens auf der Fahrt durch die Alpen: das Kirchlein von Wassen auf seiner Anhöhe im Urner Reusstal, mit dem schneebedeckten «Chli Windgällen» im Hintergrund. Der heute bekannteste und bedeutendste Plakatgestalter der frühen Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts, Emil Cardinaux, hat seine Tourismus-Plakate mit sehr viel Feingefühl und hoher Wertschätzung der Naturschönheiten geschaffen, war er doch selber ein begeisterter Alpinist und erfahrener Bergsteiger. Seine Bilder überzeugen uns durch Authentizität, eine stilsichere Hand bei der Farbwahl und eine detailgetreue Gestaltungsweise.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
