Scenic America Postcard: Lake Chelan, Washington Postcard

Here's a photo taken just after dawn at the head of Lake Chelan, in the village of Stehekin, Washington, in the heart of the North Cascades National Park. This is standing at the very head of the lake, looking down towards the ferry dock and lodge, which is out of view about a mile down the lake on the left. Stehekin is only accessible via a 50.5 mile ferry ride or hike. The night before this picture was taken, strong winds roared through the trees, but by dawn, the winds had completely stilled, leaving the lake as smooth as a mirror.
