This design features a painting by the British artist Simeon Solomon (1840–1905). It shows the poets Sappho and Erinna embracing and kissing each other. Sappho is often considered to have been the first major lesbian figure in history. The two women are in a garden in the ancient Greek city of Mytilene. The are expressing their love for each other. It is an early depiction of lesbian desire. The original artwork was painted in 1864.
