San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk (by Claude Monet) Cutting Board

This design features a famous Impressionist painting by Claude Monet (1840–1926). It forms part of a series of views of the monastery-island of San Giorgio Maggiore (in the Venetian dialect, San Zorzi Mazor): its Palladian church is an important landmark of Venice. Monet felt Venice was a city "too beautiful to be painted", however, here he has elegantly captured the beauty of a colourful sunset, in various shades of red, orange, yellow and blue. The original painting was completed in 1908 and it is currently housed in the National Museum Cardiff, Wales.

The famous painting by Van Gogh became a household item for a friend who appreciates "The Starry Night." I was happy to find something practical to celebrate her newly renovated kitchen in a way I knew she'd appreciate. I think it was fine, but I haven't been able to see it displayed in her new kitchen.
