Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, born in 1774, was the first native-born American to be canonised. A devoted wife and mother, she converted to Catholicism in 1805, facing ostracism from her Protestant family. Seton founded the Sisters of Charity, establishing the first Catholic girls' school in the United States. Her dedication to education and charity laid the groundwork for Catholic education in America. Canonised in 1975, she is revered for her pioneering spirit and commitment to serving others.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
