Maru ni Igeta Shower Curtain

The 'Igeta' crest is a symbol derived from the wooden frame surrounding the above-ground part of a well, resembling the character for 'well.' Originally, circular shapes were called 'Izutsu,' while square shapes were referred to as 'Igeta' in heraldry. Historically, wells were considered sacred as they provided life-giving water, and thus, the 'Igeta' design was used based on these spiritual beliefs. The first recorded use of this crest is found in the 'Kenmon Shoka Mon,' where the Ii clan's crest is depicted as a 'well character' crest, which later evolved into the 'Izutsu' crest for the Ii family.
