【Maru ni Seigaiha】Wave pattern / Seigaiha pattern was popular during the Edo period. In the Genroku era, Urushi craftsman Kanagai Kansai devised this design. / Seigaiha is the name of a piece of Gagaku music, and it is named so because performers wear Shitagasane no Ho with Seigaiha pattern when they dance. It is a continuous wave pattern that looks like divided swirls, and Kanagai Kansai popularized this pattern during the Bunroku era. (Excerpt from 'Kamon Hyakuwa (Vol. 2)' by Niwa Motoji) / This design was created based on the aforementioned book. (2013/5/3)

This wrapping is very high quality, the paper is nice and thick and the colour is gorgeous. I always use blue at Christmas and was having trouble finding just the right colour and quality - this roll was just perfect. The quality, design and colour are exactly as expected. No disappointments here. Won’t ever go back to cheap wrapping that tears at the corners ever again.
