About This Design

Rocket Scientist Birth of Stars Star Cluster Coffee Mug

Rocket Scientist Birth of Stars Star Cluster Coffee Mug

A mug for rocket scientists, with upside-down text - because you look at things in a different perspective. You can also change the text to whatever you like. To make it right-side-up, use the customise feature and the rotating arrow. You can also change font size, style or colour. In this amazing image, stars are being born amid huge swirling clouds of gasses, vapour and cosmic particles. This is star cluster R136, located in heart of the Tarantula Nebula (aka 30 Doradus), about 160,000 light years from planet Earth. Its activity creates much of the luminosity of the nebula. The red and gold coloured clouds are formed by the activity of other stars, much older, which are reaching the end of their lives and becoming red giants or supernovae.

The quality of these larger mugs is very good. I have been putting mine through the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of fading or dulling. Ergonomically these are lovely to hold and have fast become my favourite mug for a big cup of tea or coffee. Totally recommend getting the tea infuser with the mug especially if you like using loose leaf tea, which always tastes better from my experience and is better for the environment. Printing was good, bright and most importantly accurately matches the colouring shown on the website.
