Rideau Lakes - Canoe Poster

The Rideau Lakes system in Eastern Ontario Canada offers an opportunity to do some great canoeing. In mid September, when the cottagers have gone back to the cities the lakes are heavenly quiet. In the evening just before sunset, the lake was like a sheet of glass. As we glided across the surface of the lake, the only noise was the sound of our paddles dipping in and out of the water. There was no need for conversation, because there was something in the enviornment that was almost spiritual in nature. We docked the canoe and lifted it up on the dock. I looked back when standing on a little hill and captured the moment with my camera. In the image you can still see drops of water on the dock near the bottom of the canoe.
