Richard Milhous Nixon was the 37th president of the United States, serving from 1969 until 1974. Nixon was a Republican and previously served as the 36th vice president under President Dwight Eisenhower. Nixon also served as a representative and senator from California. Nixon's accomplishments include the reduction of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, stability with the Soviet Union and China, a successful Apollo 11 Moon landing, and the addition of new agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
