Richard III Memorial in Leicester, England

This stone plaque is embedded into a wall, alongside the River Soar in Leicester, England. King Richard III was taken to the city after his defeat at the Battle of Bosworth. He was buried in Greyfriar's, but that was lost after the Dissolution of the Monasteries. In August 2012, after digging up a council car-park, archaeologists from the University of Leicester found what may well be the lost remains of Richard III.
