This is a beautiful vintage Chinese advertisement from the early 20th century! These paintings and photographs were primarily produced in Shanghai in the 1920s and 1930s, blending Eastern and Western design and often showcase the tension between modern (sometimes racy) women and traditional Shanghai beauty. This interesting illustration features a group of beautiful young mothers gathering for a Mahjong game while their children play.
