Cover your table with this nice tablecloth covered with this traditional Japanese Shippo interlocking circles in Delft Blue.
A traditional Japanese pattern of interlocking circles in traditional Dutch Delft blue. Deep blue on white is a beautiful ancient Chinese combination for porcelain, which was exported all over the world. This is a simple abstract design of circle segments that you may see a lot in Japanese prints. It looks great both on fabric and crockery.
This kind of pattern is often used on fabric for yukata or a jinbei, traditional Japanese clothes for in the hot summer months.
When you think of this type of fabric, resist dyeing comes to mind. In Japan vintage techniques are roketsuzome with wax, katazome, yuzen and tsutsgaki with rice paste. A favourite method of applying paste is by means of a stencil.

I wanted a tapestry fabric to drape over a large table. Real tapestry fabric and tapestries are VERY expensive. For a 140.00 investment I achieved the look very nicely. Actually looks better in person.
The tablecloth also came much earlier than I had expected. I had to blow up the pattern to fit a larger tablecloth and was concerned about the registration. It turned out quite well. Kind of pattern that adapts well.
