About This Design

Retro Blue Interlocking Circles Geometric Oriental Short Table Runner

Retro Blue Interlocking Circles Geometric Oriental Short Table Runner

Your table looks wonderful with this short table runner covered with this traditional Japanese interlocking circles in Delft Blue. A traditional Japanese pattern of interlocking circles in traditional Dutch Delft blue. Deep blue on white is a beautiful ancient Chinese combination for porcelain, which was exported all over the world. This is a simple abstract design of circle segments that you may see a lot in Japanese prints. It looks great both on fabric and crockery. This kind of pattern is often used on fabric for yukata or a jinbei, traditional Japanese clothes for in the hot summer months. When you think of this type of fabric, resist dyeing comes to mind. In Japan vintage techniques are roketsuzome with wax, katazome, yuzen and tsutsgaki with rice paste. A favourite method of applying paste is by means of a stencil.

This runner is lovely and brightened up my timber table beautifully, as in the advertised photo. The design is perfect and the colours make it a versatile addition to the home decor with white, black and the different green-blue hues. The print is perfect and clear with solid colour
