This adorable baby orangutan is an orphan, one of our most recent rescues to arrive at the Care Centre on the island of Borneo. Orangutans are gentle and intelligent great apes. Some babies are so traumatised by the death of their mothers and/or the capture process that they give up the will to live. OFI provides round the clock care, trying to save each precious arrival as well as this great ape species in general. You can foster an orphan or purchase rainforest land to be saved as sanctuary sites at www.orangutan.org
