Repro Intricate Victorian Sunflower Transferware Ceramic Tile

Transferware tiles were originally produced using a decorative technique that was developed in England in the mid-1700s. Although transferware designs were sometimes filled in with color glazes by hand, like this one, the design was first fired onto the tile, which made decorative tiles and other items printed using this method more affordable than labor-intensive and more costly hand-painted tiles. This made transferware tiles very popular and widely used.
