William De Morgan (1839-1917) was an important Arts & Crafts movement artist and was the head of tile production at William Morris's studio. His work was influenced by Persian and Islamic art and featured stylized flora and fauna from both life and fantasy. This is his vision of the long-extinct dodo bird.
