Le Moulin de la Galette by Pierre-Auguste Renoir Also known as "Bal du moulin de la Galette" (Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette), this famous painting depicts a fun filled Sunday in Paris' Montmartre district in the late 1800s. Parisians are shown dancing, eating, drinking and generally enjoying themselves. This is an oil on canvas. It was painted by Renoir in 1876 and is one of his best loved paintings.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
