Renaissance Angel Playing Violin Melozzo da Forli Poster
Angel Playing the Violin (c. 1480) by artist Melozzo da Forlì (c. 1438-1494) is a vintage Renaissance fine art religious portrait painting. A fresco that features a musician angel playing a musical stringed instrument, the violin and making beautiful music.
This is one of the most wonderful works of the Italian Renaissance, even in its heavily damaged state. Melozzo da Forli was commissioned by Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere (later Pope Julius II) to decorate the apse of the Santi Apostoli in Rome. This work was executed by Melozzo da Forli between 1480 and 1484, but only remains in fragments now in the Vatican Museum. The surviving fragments depict the the Ascension, Apostles and music making angels.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
