A fascinating vintage illustration of a starfish (Asterias rubens) surrounded by baby starfish by the famous 1800's artist-biologist Ernst Haeckel. This species has been thriving for 450 million years!
In the background the soft scalloped lines of a jellyfish (Zygocanna undulosa) add an elegant touch to the composition.
