The Red Panda is another endangered species due to habitat loss, human interferance and poaching and estimates are that there is less than 10,000 left in the wild. Red Pandas are native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It has dense reddish-brown fur with a black belly and legs, white-lined ears, a mostly white muzzle and a ringed tail. 95% of the Red Pandas diet is made up of bamboo but will supplement it with fruit, nuts, eggs and insects. In the wild Red Pandas can live up to 8 to 10 years, though in captivity they can live up to 20 years, though one Red Panda is said to have lived to 24 years old and died in 2015. Red Pandas numbers are declining still. Red Pandas have between one of a four cubs and the cubs will stay with the mother for about one year or until the next breeding season.
