Raphael painted beautiful children -- this Madonna by Raphael was completed in 1505. The child is just as gorgeous as the mother -- both the Madonna and the Christ have subtle auras circling around their heads. Baby Jesus is embracing his mother, and love radiates from both. The Madonna is wearing a rich red dress. The Christ child is standing on momma's lap, on top of a dark blanket. Raphael is known for his cherubs -- beautiful fat little angels flying around the ceiling. This is a masterpiece from Raphael, and a very appealing image for our gifts.
