About the original work of art: Artist: Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (Raphael) Title: Angel (fragment of the Baronci Altarpiece) Date: 1500-01 Period or Movement: Italian High Renaissance Medium and Support: Oil on wood, 31 x 27 cm Location: Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo, Brescia Notes: The altarpiece was badly damaged in the earthquake of 1789. This angel fragment is one of the few unblemished fragments salvalged from it after the disaster.
