It would also repeal subminimum wages and eliminate the lower minimum wage for tipped workers. The proposed minimum increase will lift millions out of poverty, give full time workers a living wage, stimulate the economy due to increased spending and reduce the need for federal supports such as food stamps and poverty programs.
