Rainbow Cap Poster

An intersection between art and science, Rainbow Cap came out of one of the first runs of a tool I wrote myself to visualise the structure of the packets....envelopes, if you will....containing data the traverses the internet. In this poster, there are about 2,000 of these envelopes pictured...this is what the Matrix actually does look like. Originally created for use in network and cyber security environments, I’ve taken a number of images such as this, tweaked them a little bit without changing their underlying truth, and used them as art in shows (a number of them have been since sold). The combination of repeated structure, unique features, and random noise in these packets convey an aesthetic that I find myself coming back to and enjoying again and again.
