Mais toutes ces visions s'inscrivaient dans un rêve plus large qui n'a encore fait l'objet d'aucune étude. Ce soldat las des guerres rêvait d'humanité et de paix dans un monde de cruauté et de violence. Il entrevoyait un monde nouveau où des gens de cultures différentes pourraient vivre ensemble dans l'amitié et la concorde. C'est ce qui devint son grand dessein en Amérique du Nord.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
