Pyramid of the Sun Postcard

Teotihuacán, the 'City of the Gods,' was once the largest urban centre in the pre-Columbian Americas. The Pyramid of the Sun is its most massive structure, rising over 60 metres from the Avenue of the Dead. Built around 200 CE, it represents the heart of a civilisation that influenced cultures across Mesoamerica long before the arrival of the Aztecs. The site is chraacterised by its vast scale and geometric precision. The massive stone blocks of the pyramid dominate the arid landscape, surrounded by smaller platforms and the remains of ancient murals. The atmosphere is one of solemnity and power, especially when viewed under the wide, open sky of the high Mexican plateau. The sun bleaches the stone to a pale tan, creating a stark, monochromatic beauty.
