This late 1800s photo of the home known as "Crowndale," at 37 Highland Avenue in Short Hills, NJ, reveals the Victorian trim that once embellished the home and which was already gone by about 1900. The third story balcony and the overhanging roof have been removed, in addition to the right-hand porch. The front porch was later enclosed with arched windows. The well-known and important home stands atop a knoll and overlooks the village below. The home is in the Short Hills Park historic district and has been lovongly cared for throughout the many years since it was built. NOTE: This is the archival-print edition of the image.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
