President James Monroe Portrait Poster

In these, turbulent, political times, one can say that we, as a country, are in an Era of Good Feeling. But, there was, such a president, whose administration was known, as such. James Monroe, our 5th President. When he ran for re-election, in 1820, he faced no formal opposition. When the Electoral College met, one defecting member, announced that, he thought, Washington, alone, should go down in history, as having been elected unopposed. This elector cast his vote, for John Quincy Adams. This portrait, vividly, captures, not only the man, but, also, his times. Vivid color, the archival heavyweight paper, adds to the luster and feel of this print.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
