Prairie watercolor poster
Prairie is inspired by the great plains and tall grass prairies of the United States. This image gets down in the grass and among the clover, cone flowers and sunflowers. I use a variety of colors in the blades of grass. This helps give the effect of diversity in the plants. Also, the placement of complementary colors close to each other helps accentuate the greens and yellows of the grass. This image is intended to give the feeling of being on the plains, feeling the breeze and experiencing the vast landscapes. While principally inspired from locations in Kansas, there is much of this same topography across much of the US. Central states west of the Mississippi river.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
