Poster: Vacation at Home Poster
This is a World War II vintage illustration for a poster from the archives of the U.S. Department of Transportation. The illustration shows a relaxed man leaning back in his chair smoking a pipe. His English setter dog is curled up at his feet. At the top it says "Me travel?" At the bottom of the image are the words: "...not this summer" followed by "Vacation at Home." This wonderful illustration is very appropriate today. It was created by artist/illustrator Albert Dorne.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
