Poster Print: Bicycle Adventures of Piet Pelle
Tis is a reproduction of the vintage cover art for the Dutch bicycle book "Piet Pelle." "Piet Pelle was biilled as "an artistic picture book for children aged 8 to 80 years." (Wikipedia) It was first published in 1912 as a free book, intended as promotional material for the Piet Pelle Gazelle youth bicycles. The book shows Piet Pelle undertaking incredibly wonderful adventures on his bike. The book, created by the Dutch artist Ko Doncker (1874-1917) of the Gazelle Bicycle Factory, was tremendously successful.
This image has been professionally restored by us. Tears have been repaired, colours have been enhanced, it has been retouched where faded.
This artwork is available as a poster or a canvas print. Framing is also available.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
