This is a reprint courtesy of Open Access at the Met Museum of "Pet Squirrel" - a beautiful piece of artwork. This is part of the Trade cards from the "Household Pets" series (N194), issued in an unnumbered set of 25 in 1891 by Wm. S. Kimball & Co. to promote Sweet Lavender, Old Gold, Black and Tan, and Hard Tack Tobacco. Lithography by Julius Bien & Co. (American (born Germany), Naumberg 1826–1909 United States)

When looking for vintage looking artwork this card is the bomb! It just makes me smile. I also love the color combination on the back. And the box for the Postcard ID number makes Postcrossing so convenient. (Before I bought these cards I almost forget to put the ID number on a couple of times). Printing is perfect: colors are clear and crisp. Great quality card stock.
Note on the types of card stock -- I love the semi-gloss for mailing as postcards. I found the texture of the matte finish to be beautiful and rich - however, those cards seem to stick together. So when I buy the matte finish, I also get envelopes to mail them in.
