Polaroid SX-70 Photo Light Painting #1 Poster
Light Painting #1 is another in a series of photo manipulations I made during the 1980's with an instant film camera. I would find a light source; Christmas lights, neon signs, fireworks etc., open the shutter and move the camera and viola we have a light painting. In this case we have as a source one of those little spinning holographic discs. Then some digital riffs off the original picture. The indistinctness of the images along with the bright colours against the black background gave me the idea to call them photo noirs. My name is Mike Beyer and I'm an image collector, stationary and in motion. During the late 1970's & 80's I took thousands of these instant photos. There are a few hundred left and I've been converting the images into digital bits. Now I'm turning them into posters, post cards and other items here on Zazzle. While I would certainly have preferred to have this quirky poster framed, for what I could afford, this poster option was great. It looks really good on my wall and I'm sure will draw some interesting comments. I'm very happy with the printing quality and colours.

I was given a small budget to decorate a free clinic. I ordered many of the posters from Zazzle because I could select various sizes that fit frames we could re-purpose. The quality of the printing is fine and there's a wide selection of subjects and styles to choose from. The paper quality on most of the items I ordered was decent. For some reason, though, the Ibis poster on "Perfect Poster (Glossy Finish)" is on very flimsy paper. It'll look fine when framed, but I would upgrade the paper choice if I did this over again. The image quality, colors, and printing quality were fine -exactly what I expected.
