August Hoen was a printmaker and inventor, patenting several processes for making halftone prints. Largely due to his skills, A. Hoen & Co. became one of Baltimore's most prominent printing companies during the late nineteenth century. But the company's success was also due to the unnamed artists who created lithographs like this one under work for hire agreements. My grandson liked the card. Your cards are always great quality. I enjoyed being able to use a photo of him in the card, as these cards are keepsakes. The only disappointment was that I couldn’t get a gamer themed card. He is a very passionate gamer.
