A sunset view of the Yacht Club and Marina of Point o'Woods, or PoW as it is nicknamed, grace the cover of this card. Located near the center of Fire Island, PoW is one of the oldest communities on Fire Island, dating back to 1898 when it was founded as a summer retreat by the Chautauqua Society. The only private community on Fire Island, it is recognizable by its large, airy Victorian-era shingled beach houses; many of its residents have summered there for three generations.
