Plaza Mayor Poster
Plaza Mayor, Madrid, Spain The Plaza de Arrabal was redesigned by Francisco Herrera in the second half of the 16th century, but the construction begun only in the 17th century. It was destroyed by fire three times and it was redesigned again by Juan de Villanueva in 1790. The 17the century statue of Philip III was placed in the square in 1848. The square was used as a market place in the 16th century, but several bull fights and auto de fes took place here.

I love the poster; it reminds me of many good memories of my time studying and living in Madrid. The only quibble I have is with the size. I could not find a standard frame size for 20x28. I managed to find a poster frame that was 50x70 cm., which was close, but I had to trim a half inch each way (took off 1/4 inch on each side and 1/2 inch on top), which was awkward with such a large page. I realize that it is possible to order it in a variety of sizes, but with the Klout perk I was limited to this size. But now that it is successfully framed, it looks great on my wall! The printing is great - looks exactly like it does in the photo!

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
