Here is a template for creating platonic solids. Simply cut out the shapes, fold, and then glue them together. Most babies only get to play with 2D shapes, but if these could be baby-proofed, I think they would be a fun way to introduce 3D geometry to kids at an early age. Even most adults are not familiar with many of these solids. These platonic solids are covered with reaction-diffusion patterns. Reaction-diffusion is a chemical reaction that can resemble stripes or leopard spots (depending what parameters you use).

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
