Pitta Dosha Balancing Ayurveda Mandala II Poster

Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old Indian science of life. It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realising their full human potential. Ayurveda describes three fundamental energies that govern our inner and outer environments: movement, transformation, and structure. These bodily bio-elements or "doshas" (in Sanskrit, Vata [Wind], Pitta [Fire], and Kapha [Earth]) are responsible for the characteristics of our mind and body. An important goal of Ayurveda is to identify a person’s ideal state of balance, determine where they are out of balance, and offer interventions using diet, herbs, aromatherapy, chromotherapy (colour), massage treatments, music, and meditation to reestablish balance. Meditating on particular colours can help achieve or maintain balance. Pitta dosha represents internal fire energies and therefore needs the cooling powers of blues and greens, which are particularly beneficial, as well as pinks and roses, to maintain balance. Using this personal-size mandala as a focus of your meditation or other spiritual practices can help bring balance to a Pitta individual. A tiny yin yang symbol is at the very centre of the mandala as a reminder to keep balance at the centre of your life.
