Pink Roses Invitation
The original piece of art upon which this design was based will be given as a gift to a coworker who loves the colour pink. I didn't have them in mind when I painted it, but by the time I was done, I was like, "Yeah, it's obvious who this one will go to." This piece was my first attempt at painting after a couple months off. I had the flowers sketched out on paper & had set the paper aside in the basement for close to a year. I pulled it off the shelf as a low-stakes way to get myself painting again-- a design I remember liking when I saw first drew it, but got distracted from long enough for it to not 'speak' to me anymore. So, there was no risk if I screwed it up. I don't think I screwed it up at all, in the end. The pink roses are set against a celestial backdrop of twinkling stars below a crescent moon. It's a waxing crescent, FYI.

I'm so pleased with the matte finish on these 5x7" cards - it's got a nice luxe feel to it, perfect for the vintage print I was using; the cardstock has a nice heft to it; the print came out crisp and colorful. I'm very happy with this purchase. Note that I was printing artwork - I'm not sure if a photo would look as good on this paper. Colors are true, print is crisp.

I am using this in a Gothic girl junk journal & turned it into a journaling card. I do wish the artist had the same girl in different poses & possibly a full length piece, not just a bust. Otherwise it's very nice & will go well in my journal. Great. Clear. Nice matte finish. Just what I was looking for.
