Pillars of Creation Poster

This is a reproduction of an awesome image of the Pillars of Creation taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. These are columns of cool interstellar hydrogen gas which are incubators of new stars. Knots within and on the surface of the columns are known as Evaporating Gaseous Globules and these can further condense into ever more dense gas clouds which alight into new stars with thermonuclear heat and light. These columns are 7000 light-years from earth and are in the Eagle Nebula. The image was released in November, 1995.
