Pulcino della Minerva, Piazza Minerva, Rome, Italy An Egyptian obelisk was found in the Dominican monks' garden in Rome in the 17th century. The obelisk was incorporated into a monument designed by Lorenzo Bernini and realised by Ercole Ferrata. The obelisk is supported by an elephant. The design was inspired by a novel of Francesco Colonna.
