In this winter photo of Mt. Rainier, which rises 14,411 feet above Puget Sound about 50 miles southeast of Seattle, WA, the mountain shows its chilly side. Dark green evergreen trees at the lower left border the light blue foothills. Light on the right side of the mountain reflects off the snow-covered peak that almost fills the frame of the photograph, and blue shadows silhouette the left side, slightly darker than the blue evening sky. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
