Imhotep built the world's first free-standing stone building here (Djoser's Step Pyramid) and it's still standing 4,600 years later. Then, he built a palace temple around it, from which a doorway just happens to look right out at the Great Pyramid of Giza built 65 years later by Khufu, which happens to be the height of the pyramid building period. Go figure - he knew? "Gonna be a good view here in 65 years, Pharaoh. Like I told ya, location, location, location." Modern Americans generally recall Imhotep as the "Mummy." Posterised watercolor.
