Pedraza Spain Magnet

Pedraza is a remarkably preserved mediaeval walled village located in the province of Segovia, Spain. Stepping through its singular town gate feels like travelling back in time, as the village has meticulously maintained its historic architecture, featuring cobblestone streets, grand ancestral houses adorned with coats of arms, and a majestic 13th-century castle. The heart of the village is its Plaza Mayor, an irregular and uniquely charming central square lined with rustic porticoes and old wooden balconies. Today, Pedraza is celebrated not only for its historical ambiance but also for its vibrant cultural scene. It is famously known for the 'Concierto de las Velas' (Concert of the Candles) held annually in July, during which the entire town extinguishes its public lights and is illuminated solely by tens of thousands of candles, creating a magical, glowing atmosphere that attracts visitors from all over the world.
