President Obama received a Nobel Peace Prize for Hopeful Wishful Thinking, and not much more. But who in the last century has been the real guardian of peace? The American Soldier. From liberating Europe from tyrants and despots in World War 1 and World War 2, to defending the freedom-loving people of Korea, to restoring Kuwait to its people after their takeover by Saddam Hussein in the first Gulf War, to missions of mercy in war-torn and tsunami ripped nations, to building schools and roads and infrastructure for developing nations, to freeing the people of Iraq from an evil dictator, to its mission of defeating the Taliban and Al-Queda and keeping terrorism at bay..... It is my earnest hope that President Obama will accept this award on behalf of the United States Military - the ones the whole world looks to in times of trouble and calamity. Workhorses over show horses.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
