Paul Signac - The Bonaventure Pine Square Wall Clock

The Bonaventure Pine in Saint-Tropez, Opus 239 (Le pin de Bonaventure), painted by Paul Signac in 1893, centres a monumental umbrella pine above the Mediterranean coast, with sailboats and distant hills beyond. Dense touches of contrasting colour give the landscape a decorative, sunlit intensity. This oil on canvas is held by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
